WFD research and development initiatives
What research and development work is being undertaken to support implementing WFD in the UK?
A good place to start is the Water Framework Directive research database.
This provides information on direct and related research that has been, or is proposed to be undertaken, to assist the implementation of the WFD in the UK. Information was and continues to be provided by Environment Agency, SEPA, EHSNI and CCW and invited participants.
Where can I find out information on new contracts and initiatives?
The SNIFFER web-site – ‘whats new’ http://www.sniffer.org.uk/whats_new.asp also provides details on the latest outputs, seminars, workshops, proposals and other activities from across SNIFFER, including the Water Framework Directive theme. On here, are listed any calls for the Expression of Interest for WFD related research projects being managed by SNIFFER on behalf of its partners.
Detailed information on proposed research programmes is not available at this time.
Project reports are available from the following:
- Environment Agency: recent electronic newsletters from the Environment Agency dissemination service can be subscribed from www.eareports.com
- SNIFFER: the SNIFFER web site provides lists of reports. Hard copies of reports are available from the Foundation for Water Research (FWR) - e-mail office@fwr.org.uk quoting the SNIFFER report ref or order on-line at this link
