UKTAG Report: UK Environmental Standards and Conditions (Specific Pollutants/Groundwater Standards/Surface Water) (SR1-2007)

ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS

Throughout 2005-2007, UKTAG is developing a range of environmental standards and conditions to underpin the implementation of the Water Framework Directive.

The standards defines environmental conditions that will support healthy communities of aquatic plants and animals and will cover both surface and ground waters and will cover:

  • water quality;
  • hydrology (for example, water flow or water levels for rivers and lakes);
  • morphology;
  • Environmental Quality Standards (EQSs) for specific pollutants (i.e. synthetic and non-synthetic pollutants);
  • groundwater quality and quantity.

    Below is the final Phase 1 report presenting these standards. This report has been revised to take into account the non good standards for rivers and hydology and also updated to reflect the changes in the Phase 2 Environmental Standards and Conditions report (see above)
